Ioannis (John) M. Nomikos (RIEAS Director) visited Taipei (06-12 October 2014) and delivered speeches on "terrorism, illegal migration and human-trafficking in the Balkan and Mediterranean region" at the Institute of International Relations (IIR) in the Chengchi University, Taiwanese Immigration Agency, and Prospect Foundation. 
Ioannis (John) M. Nomikos delivered a speech on "Does Greece need a Homeland Security Department within Security and Intelligence Community?" in the Developing Border Protection Management Strategies in Counter-Illicit Migration, Trafficking and Terrorist Networks Seminar organized by the George C. Marshall Center for Security Studies, the Hellenic National Police and Hellenic Coast Guard on 23-25 September 2014 in Athens, Greece. 
The Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS) organized the 1st Executive Security Training Seminar entitled: "National Security and Intelligence Analysis in the Mediterranean Region". Nomikos (RIEAS Director) delivered a speech on “NATO at 65: Challenge and Opportunity”, organized by Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences (Prague), the European Intelligence Academy (EIA) in the Research Institute for European and American Studies ( Athens, Greece) on 6th June 2014 in Prague, Czech Republic.
John M Nomikos (RIEAS Director) delivered a speech on “A Description of Alexander the Great HUMINT Networks and U.S. Fusion Intelligence Centers: How OSINT Academic Researchers support the Intelligence Cooperation in the Black and Caspian Region?” in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea Security Symposium in Bucharest (20-22 May, 2014), Romania.
Dr. John Nomikos, Director of RIEAS and Ms Antonia Dimou, senior RIEAS advisor participated in the 14th Doha Forum and Enriching the Middle East's Economic future conference which wrapped up ceremonies on the 14th of May, concluding two days of talks which focused on the year’s international economic developments. Held at Ritz Carlton-Doha, the Forum co-sponsored by the Center for Middle East Development of the UCLA attracted 700 high-profile delegates from around the world including a number of business leaders. Doha Forum and Enriching the Middle East's Economic future conference convened a workshop at Al Mukhtasar-1 titled "Eastern Mediterranean Energy Discoveries: Opportunities and Challenges" moderated by Ms Dimou and with Dr. Nomikos being one of the major speakers.

Dr. John M Nomikos participated in the Counter-Terrorism Challenges in the Region of South Eastern Europe Conference and he delivers a paper on “Balkan-Mediterranean Intelligence-Sharing Cooperation and Counterterrorism Policy in Greece.” The Conference took place in the Slovene Armed Forces Military Schools Center (3-7 March 2014) in Maribor, Slovenia.
