To understand the architecture of the emerging global order, one must first look at the map of world wealth — and then at the map of the world’s seas. 
After more than a century in which the geographic center of global gross domestic product was firmly anchored somewhere between Europe and North America, the economic center of gravity is shifting inexorably back toward Asia.
