The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS), Dr. Aref Ali Nayed, met in Cairo today with Dr Ghassan Salamé, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), and Stephanie T. Williams, Deputy UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Political Affairs in Libya. During the meeting, Dr. Nayed presented two official copies of the open letters sent recently by the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) to UNSMIL, warning against the two MOUs concluded by the Tripoli-based government with Ankara, and confirming their illegality and voidness.
