John M Nomikos, RIEAS Director, delivered a paper on “ Is a European Union Independent Intelligence Agency Needed?” in the XIX Annual Intelligence Conference by the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy on 18 October 2013 in Bucharest, Romania.

RIEAS organized a Seminar on “Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism: New Actors and New Practices” on 28-09-2013 & 12-10-2013 in Athens, Greece.

RIEAS and EYEONIX Company coorganized the 5th Executive Security Seminar on 4 October 2013 in Caravel Hotel , Athens, Greece. Aya Burweila, (RIEAS Senior Analyst) delivered a speech titled “Muslim Fundamentalism in North Africa: The Libyan case”, and Ia Pozovi (RIEAS Senior Analyst) delivered a speech titled “Energy Security in the Caspian Region.” 

RIEAS and the International Intelligence History Association (IIHA) co-organized three days international conference on “Intelligence in the Mediterranean and the Balkans” on 21-23 June 2013 in the Titania Hotel, Athens, Greece. John M Nomikos (RIEAS Director) participated in one-day (10 June 2013)  discussion-seminar about the Role and Vision of NATO in the world, at NATO HQ, Brussels, Belgium.

Andrew N. Liaropoulos participated in the 5th International Conference on Cyber Conflict that took place in Tallinn, Estonia in 5-7 June 2013 and was organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.

George D. Vardangalos visited Moscow, Russia (4-8 June 2013) and held discussions with Senior Analysts in the Lomonosof Moscow State University as well as the Director-General of Russian International Affairs Council.
