The Research Institute for European and American Studies in Athens, Greece and the International Association for Intelligence Education in Breda, the Netherlands co-organized a conference titled: “Intelligence Studies in a Time of European Crisis” on 22-24 June 2017 in Athens, Greece.

In the three days international conference, panelists from Armed Forces, Law-Enforcement, Intelligence and Academic community participated from the following countries: Greece, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, USA, UK, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Israel, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, France and Switzerland.

The International conference was attended by fifty persons and topics were covered as: Intelligence studies, social media, security reforms in intelligence services, organized crime, illegal immigration, human trafficking, Middle East and Gulf States security issues, North Africa, Turkey social and political turmoil and illegal immigration flows to Greece/Italy/Europe , Radicalization and maritime security in the Balkan and Mediterranean region.

During the election process in the IAFIE-EUROPE Athens Conference (24/06/2017), Ioannis (John) M. Nomikos elected Member of the Board of Directors in the International Association for Intelligence Education (IAFIE-EUROPE). Read more
